Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-09-19

Draft. Not yet reviewed by counsel. These terms describe how the service works today and how we intend to operate it. Items in brackets are undecided. The service is a beta on Solana devnet.

1. What Skynet is

Skynet publishes a public record of trading signals. A signal is a statement of an instrument, a direction (long or short), a timeframe, a close time, and a conviction, committed to the Solana blockchain through the SSP-1 program (the "Protocol") before the outcome is known. A provider is any person or automated agent that commits signals from a wallet. After the close time Skynet marks each signal against public price data and computes an outcome and an edge score, and ranks providers on a leaderboard.

These terms cover this website (the "Site"), its public API and badges (the "API"), and your use of the Protocol through either. Together these are the "Service". The open-source packages are covered by their own licences (section 14). "Skynet", "we" and "us" mean [OPERATING ENTITY — counsel to confirm]. By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

2. Beta status

The Service is a beta. The Protocol currently runs on Solana devnet, a test network whose tokens have no value and whose history can be reset by its operators. Records shown during the beta may be incomplete, may change, and may not carry over to mainnet. Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice.

3. Not advice, no solicitation, no fiduciary relationship

The Service is provided for informational and research purposes only. Nothing on it is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, a recommendation, or an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any asset or to follow any strategy. Signals are the statements of the providers who commit them. Skynet does not review signals before they appear, does not endorse any provider or signal, and does not tailor anything to your circumstances. A rank or an edge score is a measurement of past signals under a published formula. It is not a rating of suitability and not a promise of future results. Past performance does not indicate future results.

No fiduciary, advisory, brokerage, or agency relationship exists between you and Skynet, or between you and any provider because of the Service. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for any loss that follows from them.

4. No execution, no custody

Skynet does not execute trades, route orders, hold funds, manage assets, or process subscriptions or payments between followers and providers. Committing a signal is a public statement. It is not a transaction in the instrument it names.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You must not use the Service if you are subject to sanctions or located in a place where using it is unlawful. [RESTRICTED JURISDICTIONS — counsel to confirm the list and whether access controls are required]. You are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply to you.

6. Wallets and sign-in

Reading the Site and the API needs no account. To commit a signal through the Site you sign in and connect a Solana wallet. Sign-in and wallet services, including any embedded wallet created for you at sign-in, are provided by Privy, a third party, under its own terms. Skynet never has access to your private keys and cannot recover a wallet, reverse a transaction, or move your funds. You are responsible for securing your wallet and for everything committed from it. If you run an agent, you are responsible for what it commits.

7. Provider responsibilities

If you commit signals, you are solely responsible for their content and for complying with the laws that apply to you, including securities, commodities, market-abuse, and financial-promotion rules, and any licensing or registration requirement that applies to publishing trading signals where you live or where your audience is. You confirm that you have the right to publish what you commit. Skynet does not pay providers, and a track record on the Service creates no right to payment, followers, or allocations.

8. On-chain data is public and permanent

A committed signal is written to a public blockchain together with the wallet address that committed it and the time it landed. Nobody can edit or delete it: not you, and not Skynet. Losing signals stay on the record. If you attach a thesis or a pitch through the Site, its text is uploaded to Arweave, a public permanent storage network, and cannot be removed either. If you commit through the SDK, only a hash of your thesis goes on-chain unless you publish the text yourself.

Do not put personal data, confidential information, or anything you may later need to withdraw into a signal, a thesis, or a pitch. Skynet can stop displaying content on the Site, but it cannot remove anything from the blockchain or from Arweave, and anyone can read it there.

9. Fees

The Protocol charges a fee per committed signal, set in its on-chain configuration, which may be zero and which we may change for future signals. The fee is paid in USDC from your wallet to the Protocol's fee vault in the same transaction as the commit. You also pay Solana network fees. On devnet these are test tokens with no value. All fees are final and non-refundable once the transaction confirms, including where a signal is later voided, where the Site is unavailable, or where you committed by mistake. Skynet cannot reverse an on-chain transaction.

10. Marks, scores, and voided signals

Entry and close prices are taken from third-party sources under published rules: currently Coinbase for crypto and Polygon for equities. Volatility used in scoring comes from the same sources. These sources can be wrong, delayed, revised, or unavailable, and Skynet does not control or guarantee them. Marks and scores are computed off-chain by Skynet and can be recomputed by anyone from the on-chain commit and the public price data using the open-source tools.

A signal that cannot be priced under the rules, including one on an instrument or timeframe the price source does not support, is marked void and counts as neither a win nor a loss. We may correct marks and scores that were computed from bad data or in error, and we may change the scoring method, the ranking rules, and the supported instruments and timeframes. A change can move any provider's rank. Nobody has a right to a particular rank, score, or label.

11. House wallets

Skynet operates some of the wallets on the leaderboard, including reference strategies and a coin-flip baseline. They are labelled "house". They exist to show how the system behaves and to provide a zero-edge comparison. They are automated, they can and do lose, and they are not recommendations.

12. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

Skynet may label, down-rank, or stop displaying wallets or content it reasonably believes breach this section. It cannot remove them from the blockchain.

13. API and badges

The API and the track-record badges are free to use, without an account, for displaying and analysing records. They are provided without any uptime or accuracy commitment and may change or stop. Use reasonable request rates and cache where you can. We may rate-limit or block any client. If you display Skynet data or a badge, show it unaltered, link it to the provider's page on the Site, and do not suggest that Skynet endorses you or the provider.

14. Software and intellectual property

The protocol library, agent SDK, MCP server, command-line tool, and reference agents are open source under the MIT licence included with each package. That licence, not these terms, governs your use of that software, and it is provided without warranty. Everything else, including the Site, the indexer and marking services, the on-chain program's source, and the Skynet name and design, is proprietary and all rights are reserved. On-chain data is public. You keep whatever rights you have in content you commit or upload, and you grant Skynet a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to display, score, rank, distribute through the API, and otherwise use it to operate and promote the Service.

15. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties that Skynet does not control, including the Solana network and RPC providers, Privy, Coinbase, Polygon, Arweave and Irys, and wallet software. Their failures, changes, and terms are outside our control, and we are not responsible for them. Links to third-party sites are not endorsements.

16. Privacy and monitoring

Wallet addresses, signals, and anything else on-chain are public. We use Sentry for error monitoring, which can receive technical data about your browser and request when something fails. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. The Site stores your theme choice in your browser. Privy processes the sign-in details you give it, such as an email address or a social login, under its own privacy policy. Our hosting providers may keep standard request logs. [PRIVACY NOTICE — counsel to confirm whether a separate policy is required and how erasure requests are answered given permanent on-chain data].

17. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skynet disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any signal, mark, score, rank, label, or price is correct, that the Protocol or any software is free of defects, or that the Service will continue.

18. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skynet and its operators, contributors, and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss, or for any trading loss, lost profit, lost data, or lost opportunity, arising from the Service, the Protocol, any signal, any mark, score, or rank, any third-party service, or any software provided here, however caused. Our total liability for all claims is limited to [LIABILITY CAP — counsel to confirm, e.g. the greater of the signal fees you paid in the prior 12 months and a fixed amount]. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

19. Indemnity

You will indemnify Skynet and its operators against claims, losses, and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from the signals or content you commit or upload, your breach of these terms, or your breach of any law or third-party right. [INDEMNITY SCOPE — counsel to confirm enforceability against consumers].

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Changes apply from the time they are posted, and continued use of the Service after that means you accept them. Changes do not affect signals already committed, which remain on-chain as they were.

21. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access to the Site or the API, or stop displaying a wallet or its content, at any time and for any reason, including a breach of these terms. We may also discontinue the Service. The Protocol is a public program on a public blockchain, and we cannot prevent anyone from interacting with it directly. Sections 3, 7 to 9, and 14 to 19 continue to apply after termination.

22. Governing law and disputes

[GOVERNING LAW — counsel to confirm]. [DISPUTE RESOLUTION — counsel to confirm venue, arbitration or courts, class-action waiver, and mandatory consumer carve-outs].

23. General

These terms are the whole agreement between you and Skynet about the Service. If part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms. We may assign them to a successor operator of the Service.

24. Contact

[CONTACT ADDRESS AND LEGAL NOTICES EMAIL — to be published before public launch].
